The heated water from the water bodies results in the formation of water vapor, thus making the air above the water bodies cooler.
The formation of hot air and cool air in the atmosphere results in the setting up of convection currents in the air. The convection currents are responsible for exchanging the hot and the cold air. In the evening, the hot air present in the atmosphere is pushed off outside the earth and the cool air above water bodies is pushed towards the land area, thus resulting in cooling off the air present in the earth.
The water vapor present in the air also contributes to the cooling of the air. Water vapor is gradually collected in the form of clouds and further condensation which results in rainfall on the land.
